Gilligan's Island Opening

I rather like the idea of running posts on a theme, so I think we'll continue with the old TV programs. Here is the opening for Gilligan's Island. I would assume this must be after the first year, which is when they dropped the Professor and Maryann from the lyrics. I would have been pissed if I were me. Nevertheless, here it is in glorious black & white, which is how I remember all of them, because we didn't get a colored TV until I was about 12 or so. It was really a beautiful piece of furniture, a big solid console TV with a stereo on one side. Man I wish we had saved it. Yeah, I know it would be useless with digital TV, and the parts would be nigh on impossible to find, but it really was neat.

-Cheers!

Bewitched Intro

Holy Smacks! It seems like nothing but bad news and sorrow lately, or maybe its just my perception. I am prone to melancholic moods from time to time. Whatever the case, I've been really nostalgic for old TV shows lately. They just take me back to a less complicated time, well, a seemingly less complicated time would be a better way to phrase that. I mean when you consider the condescending sexism, the lack of civil rights for all, among many other things. I guess what I like about these old shows is that everything ends perfectly, neat as a pin and everyone is happy at the end of the show, with a plate of freshly baked cookies, and an ice cold glass of milk.

Cheers!
